Fiction
We publish fiction that’s smart, original and grounded in truth. These aren’t cookie-cutter stories—they’re crafted, voice-driven narratives that reflect life’s complexities and ask good questions.
Genres we’re especially excited about include:
-
Contemporary Fiction – Real-world stories that mix honesty, wit and redemption without getting preachy.
-
Historical Fiction – Vivid, immersive stories that pull from the past to speak to the present.
-
Speculative Fiction – Imaginative narratives that stretch reality to explore deep truths in fresh ways.
-
Literary Fiction – Layered, character-driven work that speaks to the soul without losing its edge.
If your fiction has humor, depth and a strong sense of voice, we want to hear from you.
Non-Fiction
We’re looking for nonfiction that connects—books that are honest, informed and built to last. Whether you're telling your personal story or unpacking cultural conversations, we want authors who can speak clearly and authentically to a thinking audience.
We're especially interested in:
-
Memoirs & Personal Journeys – Vulnerable, voice-driven narratives with purpose and perspective.
-
Historical & Biographical Works – Grounded, engaging stories that bring real people and moments to life.
-
Practical & Inspirational Guides – Books that offer clear, useful insight on faith, work, relationships, or growth—without falling into cliché.
-
Cultural & Social Reflections – Sharp takes on real-world issues through a lens of faith, reason and lived experience.
We want books that say something worth saying—and say it well.
The Original "Bond" Girl

Shortly before the Civil War, a mixed-race slave girl escaped her North Carolina captors by donning men’s clothing and fleeing to New York through the Underground Railroad. The fictionalized, autobiographical account of her life as a fugitive slave is told in The Bondwoman’s Narrative. She uses the pen name Hannah Crafts to write the narrative. However, thanks to the research of Henry Louis Gates, Jr., a Harvard University professor of African-American literature and history and Gregg Hecimovich a professor at Winthrop University, the true author of the manuscript is revealed to be Hannah Bond.
Hannah Bond knew that learning to read was punishable by death. She may have been afraid, but fear did not stop her from taking her first flight to freedom by learning to read and write.
Her second flight to freedom is told in The Bondwoman’s Narrative written in the mid-1850s. The work is the only known book written by a fugitive slave woman and most likely the first novel ever written by an African American woman.
Today, Bass Bonded Books stands on the shoulders of Hannah Bond.
Bass Bonded Books is a community of readers who meet online and in real life to share the love of reading.
OUR STORY
For the Love of Books
Bass Bonded Publishing (formerly BondGirl Books) is stepping into a new chapter, representing bold, original voices and publishing the kind of books that stay with you. After building success as an independent publishing imprint, we’re now opening our doors to select authors who bring smart, grounded and compelling stories to the table.
We’re not your typical Christian publishing house. Yes, we believe in God's Truth. But we also know that includes books that are not afraid of curiosity, creativity and the well-timed punchline. We take faith seriously—ourselves, not so much.
We’re drawn to writers who have something to say and say it well. Writers with craft, edge, humor and conviction. Whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction, if your story is sharp, honest and rooted in purpose, we’re listening. And once we sign on, we work alongside our authors to shape, publish and promote stories that make a meaningful impact.
Bass Bonded Publishing (like our parent company Bass Public Affairs) exists to amplify fresh, thoughtful voices in a crowded market. We’re here to publish with clarity, conviction and a little bit of attitude.

Interested in working with us?
We’re building a curated, high-impact list and would love to hear from authors ready to make their mark.
If your manuscript or book proposal has purpose, originality and polish, let’s talk.
I loved this book because it provides clarity to our everyday living. The chapters are set up for a daily read, but you will want to read the entire book in one sitting and then go back for a daily read. There is space at the end of each chapter for you to write your notes. Happy reading!
